I’m a Fashion Writer and I’ll be wearing *these* HOFF trainers on rotation all autumn

Colourful trainers took the fashion set by storm in SS24 – and for AW24, expect nothing less than bold, bright and beautiful foot candy flooding your newsfeeds.

As our wardrobes start taking that seasonal shift (enter inky black, stormy grey and chocolate brown pieces), this year our Fall footwear game has other ideas. “Flamboyant feet” is a trend that’s going nowhere – and as the weather gets progressively duller, we need to find injections of joy through other means.

Leading the way in the colourful trainer trend is HOFF. In my opinion, they’re the best shoe brand to come out of Europe. Founded in 2016 with the goal of combining quality, design and fair prices, they’ve earned their stripes doing exactly that. Comfortable, creative (have you seen those soles??), credit-card friendly and spotted on celebs like Holly Willboughy – I didn’t need much convincing to try a pair out. Ever since, I’ve been hooked.

So, if like me, you want to say goodbye boring autumn/winter shoes, here are the colourful trainer trends to try instead…

#1: Tan suede trainers

Bohemia is BIG news for AW24 – but in a cooler, cleaner and more contemporary way than the 00s. Tan suede details are a big part of this look.

The key to nailing this new bohemian trend? Original features in modern silhouettes. And boy do these tan suede HOFF trainers tick all the boxes. I’ll be wearing mine with indigo jeans, a semi-sheer chiffon ruffle blouse and suedette trench coat. Feel free to copy.

#2: Pastels for autumn? Groundbreaking!

Some days you just need a little color in your life. I bought this pretty pastel pair of HOFF trainers in the spring – and I don’t plan on putting them to rest any time soon. Pastels add a joyful – and unexpected – flair to an autumn outfit. I’ll be wearing these with a grey wool cardigan and velour wide-leg trousers for a low-key luxe look. Try it on days you want to fight those morning S.A.D feels.

#3: Khaki is king

For anyone who wants to adopt the colourful trainer trend in a more muted (and dare I say, demure) way for autumn, khaki is king. These new mossy green HOFFs literally go with everything you have in your wardrobe. Try adding them to your favourite all-black outfit for just a hint of colour, or go bold and wear with full animal print. My favourite thing about this colourway? It hides a multitude of weather-related sins. Trust me, you’ll wonder why you ever wore white trainers in the rain for all those years.
